Victory On Appeal in the Texas Supreme Court

  • October 10, 2012

On October 5, 2012, the Texas Supreme Court sided with the firm’s client in a multimillion-dollar appeal.  In Boccard USA Corp. v. Raytheon Co., the trial court rendered a judgment against Raytheon for about $3.6 million, and Raytheon hired the firm to appeal.  The Houston court of appeals overturned that recovery and vindicated Raytheon completely, but the plaintiff appealed to the Texas Supreme Court.  The Supreme Court declined to hear the plaintiff’s appeal, simultaneously denying the plaintiff’s motion to certify questions to the Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and Delaware.

The appellate team consisted of Beck Redden lawyers David M. Gunn, Erin H. Huber, and Chad Flores.  They worked in collaboration with Austin attorneys Daniel K. Craddock and Michael D. Moody of Craddock Massey LLP and Boston attorney Thomas J. Hennessey of Bingham McCutchen LLP.
