Henning v. Tecsis

Beck Redden represented American executive Jeffrey Henning in a breach of contract dispute with a Brazilian wind-energy company, Tecsis. Tecsis hired Henning to maximize his relationship and expertise with General Electric, used his consulting services to secure new contracts with GE (and others) worth more than $1 billion, and then contended it owed Henning nothing under the contract covering his consulting work.

After a bench trial, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas found that the contract was enforceable, and awarded damages. The action settled on favorable terms for the client while on appeal.  After David Beck and Michael Richardson led the Beck Redden trial team, Russell Post and William Peterson of the appellate section came on to represent Henning in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
