Beck Redden LLP is pleased to announce that Christopher R. Cowan and Chad Flores have been elected to the Partnership, effective January 1, 2018.

Mr. Cowan is based in the Firm’s Austin office and represents individuals and businesses in an array of civil litigations and appeals involving claims of statutory and common law fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of trade secrets, and breach of contract, to name a few.  He also has extensive experience in guiding clients through federal and state government investigations and criminal prosecutions that often run tandem to such civil suits.  He is a member of the Austin Bar Association and the Austin Young Lawyers Association.  Mr. Cowan has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in Business Litigation by Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers – Texas, 2014 – 2017.  He is also a member of the State Bar of California, where he practiced for several years before joining Beck Redden LLP.

Mr. Flores is an appellate specialist based in the Firm’s Houston office.  He is board certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and for five consecutive years, Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers – Texas has named him a “Rising Star” in Appellate Law.  He also provides strategic counseling in anticipation of appeal by handling jury charges and post-trial briefing, and by designing long-term litigation strategies at the inception of particularly complex matters.  Before joining the Firm, he clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Supreme Court of Texas.
